Osteopath

I qualified as an Osteopath in 2009 graduating from the University College of Osteopathy with distinction. I have since completed postgraduate studies with the Gray Institute in the USA, to become a Fellow of Applied Functional Science and NG360 Nike Golf Performance Specialist. Since graduation, I have worked in a wide variety of clinical settings including 4 years at Pure Sports Medicine working as a Team Leader at their Raynes Park Clinic and working on-site at professional sporting competitions on the Ladies European Golf Tour, British National Mountain Bike Series and Premier English Hockey League. In 2012 I founded Thirst 4 Function: An innovative education company which delivers continued professional development (CPD) courses in the UK and Internationally, to postgraduate Osteopaths, Physiotherapists and other Health Professionals. I have enjoyed travelling and teaching worldwide. In 2018, I started working as a Lecturer and Clinic Tutor at the University College of Osteopathy in London. I have since become Unit Leader for the Clinic focussed aspects of the course and spend a few days a week on-site in London.

My teaching and clinical areas of interest are movement assessment and functional rehabilitation, focusing on walking and running biomechanics.

I love to work in collaboration with my patients to understand their challenges and get them back to functioning as quickly as possible using a combination of hands-on treatment, exercise and lifestyle coaching.

“I was recommended that Chris Wilkes was the best Osteopath in the area to help my back and mobility. He is. Despite my old age he is very encouraging and knowledgeable. – JC”

“100% recommend Chris Wilkes as an Osteopath. He is fantastic and so lovely with it. I was in constant pain in my neck and shoulder to the extent that I couldn’t sleep at night and wasn’t able to do any of my normal activities, hobbies or jobs. Chris took the time to properly assess me and gave me simple exercises to do each week. Each week my shoulder area felt easier and freer. My neck now feels freer than it has in years and I can muck out and sweep again (lucky me!!) without the action causing any pain whatsoever! He fixed me! So grateful. Thank you Chris.”
