Nutrition and Kinesiology

Kinesiology is a holistic therapy which uses muscle response testing to measure the motor response of the central nervous system to a sensory challenge. By doing this, imbalances can be determined and methods to rebalance the body can be indicated.

A muscle will test either strong or weak based on the nervous system control of the muscle, responding in similar way to a switch. Kinesiology is based on the theory that manual muscle testing can provide information about imbalances and stresses in the body. A kinesiologist does not diagnose or treat, instead they work with the client to explore how to bring the body back into balance. This may involve massaging specific points, providing suggestions such as nutritional supplements, relaxation techniques, lifestyle changes, flower essences and more.In a kinesiology session, the client remains fully clothed.  Kinesiology is a relaxing, non-invasive therapy which encourages a sense of well-being. As such it may be helpful to those seeking relief from a range of symptoms and to ease emotional, physical or mental stress.

Kinesiology can work for individuals of all ages and fitness levels, from athletes aiming to enhance their sports performance to patients recovering from injuries or dealing with chronic conditions.

I’m Allison Prebble and I am dedicated to prevention as well as to alleviating conditions, ultimately guiding individuals towards reaching their goals. Through muscle response tests I can identify the imbalances and stresses in the body. It is important to say that I do not diagnose, or treat, I work with the client to explore how to bring the body back into balance. I work well with deep issues, identifying imbalances in the body by monitoring your ability to hold your muscles against light pressure “muscle testing”. I check for the possible causes be they structural, biochemical (e.g. nutritional deficiencies, intolerances), emotional or energetic (e.g. dehydration). For example if you have bloating, wind or gut issues and you’ve changed your diet but are still having symptoms, there could be an underlying issue e.g. a yeast infection or bacteria, that diet alone is not addressing. I will then advise whether supplements are advisable and I may massage lymphatic points and/or make structural corrections.

As well as Kinesiology I work within Nutritional Therapy, where I use food and dietary interventions to support and promote health and well-being. I also use my Kinesiology skills as this can provide a clearer direction to the root cause. Nutritional Therapy recognises the crucial role that nutrition plays in maintaining optimal health, preventing disease, and managing various health conditions. It is client centric, what works for one person may not suit another.

Following an assessment, I develop a customised plan that may include dietary modifications, supplementation recommendations, and lifestyle changes. The plan takes into account your own unique nutritional requirements, preferences, and any existing health conditions or concerns, medications or intolerances.

Nutritional Therapy can be particularly beneficial as part of a holistic approach to healthcare, promoting overall wellness and supporting you in achieving your individual health goals through optimised nutrition.
